MN Cane Quest
SparkPath, Minneapolis Public Schools, State Services for the Blind, the Minnesota Department of Education, and the Region 11 Low Incidence Project at BrightWorks are working together to coordinate the first Minnesota Cane Quest! Cane Quest (external site) is a fun Orientation & Mobility (O&M) program organized by the Braille Institute (external site) and designed for students in grades 3-12 with low-to-no vision. O&M focuses on the skills used to understand and navigate one’s environment safely. Strong O&M skills lay the foundation for independence, confidence, and safety. Whether you’re new to your white cane, a long-time cane user, a guide dog owner, or have low vision, Cane Quest is an exciting way to show off your O&M skills and make new friends.
